About the role

We are searching for someone with good experience in Linux operations and automation through scripting (e.g. Ansible) in an Enterprise environment, who is willing to learn Confluent Kafka, who is self-motivated and wants to expand their skills. In this role, you will be responsible for running, managing and advancing the ERGO Kafka Enterprise Platform in a mixed team from Poland and Germany. You will also support projects at the interface of development and infrastructure.
We are looking for administrators who can work with projects and teach developers how to work with the platform, e.g. building and maintaining adapters.

How you will get the job done

• solving day-to-day support issues, incidents and problems
• working with various business and technical teams to provide and enhance Kafka services
• systems and performance monitoring, including trend analysis and respective improvements
• regular review and advancement of Kafka services and automation
• assisting on-call services

Skills and experience you will need

• fluency in English (spoken and written) at minimum B2 level
• associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, system administration or a similar related field
• 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting corporate users
• knowledge of automation, scripting, CICD, and container platforms
• experience in automating operational processes with Ansible
• experience with systems deployment and container technology, including building, managing, deploying, and releasing docker containers and images based on OpenShift or Kubernetes
• experience in working with Jenkins, Maven, GIT, Artefactory, and Nexus
• administrative experience with RedHat Linux and providing IT infrastructure services
• continuous improvement attitude and proactive mindset
• being a team player and willing to share the know-how with the team, mentoring team members
• excellent communication skills

Nice to have

• proficiency in German
• experience in Java development
• knowledge of OAuth, Vert.x, and Spring Boot
