About the role

As a Systems Engineer, you will join our engineering team for Windows server-based systems. With a good understanding of our business units’ needs and close communication, we enable them to digitalize their processes through our optical character recognition and document management systems. Therefore, you will work with high independence and responsibility, supporting and ensuring a stable and safe operation.

How you will get the job done

• being responsible for the implementation, operation, and development of several Windows Server-based systems
• carrying out regular maintenance work and ensuring integrity and availability
• planning and running backups and recovery procedures
• analyzing problems and managing incidents, including troubleshooting and performance tuning
• supporting the developer teams and business units
• coordinating external service providers

Skills and experience you will need

• fluency in English (spoken and written) at minimum B2 level
• German language proficiency (spoken and written) at minimum B2 level
• associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a related field
• +3 years of working experience in a similar position
• hands-on experience with monitoring IT systems and services diagnostic and analytics tools, Windows Server System Administration
• working experience in MS SQL Server administration
• experience within ITIL processes: Service Request Management, Change and Release Management, Incident Management
• analytical thinking, problem-solving
• continuous improvement attitude and proactive mindset
• independent and self-motivated
• being a team player and willing to share the know-how with the team
• excellent communication skills
• willingness to travel

Nice to have

• knowledge in the administration of FileNet Image Services (archiving system)
• knowledge in the administration of Oracle Essbase (multi-dimensional database)
• knowledge in the administration of Smartfix OCR (optical character recognition)
