About the role
The Batch Administrator will join the team of experts, responsible for the maintenance and further development of batch infrastructure.
The team takes responsibility for the daily batch business on the mainframe and in the distributed world, steers the provider, and takes care of the JCL data basis and all the batch infrastructure components.

- daily checking of the production batch activities
- planning and scheduling of batch jobs
- troubleshooting in the field of batch
- cooperating with the provider and developers
- creating and maintaining technical processes for batch operation
- reporting with XINFO and SMF
- supporting projects
- providing technical documentation
- assisting with the on-call services
Skills and experience you will need
- fluency in English (spoken and written) at minimum B2 level
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a similar role in mainframe infrastructure and applications in a high-availability enterprise environment
- associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, system administration, or a related field
- experience within the ITIL processes: Service Request Management, Change and Release Management, Incident Management
- knowledge of batch processes on the mainframe and in a distributed world
- knowledge of batch scheduler: IWS (on the mainframe)
- knowledge of ProcMan, Smart JCL, TWS Graph, XINFO (Horizont tools) and JCL
- knowledge of mainframe and client/server infrastructure
- analytical thinking, problem-solving
- continuous improvement attitude and proactive mindset
- independent and self-motivated
- willing to share the know-how with the team
- excellent communication skills
- willingness to business travel from time to time
Nice to have
- fluency in German (spoken and written) at minimum B2 level
- knowledge of batch scheduler – Stonebranch
