About the role
The person will join the team of DB/DC experts, which is responsible for the further development of the mainframe DB/DC environment. For this purpose, they support projects in an advisory function, maintain contact with the various manufacturers, and observe the market for further developments.
The team is also responsible for managing the service provider and is in constant contact with them.
How you will get the job done
- planning, implementing, and configuring of DBDC automation environment
- consulting for upcoming technical projects
- cloning of DB/DC instances
- supporting of internal and external audits
- developing security concepts
- DBDC System optimization
- back-up and restore concepts for DBDC environment.
- performing management in the DBDC environment across the layers
- troubleshooting and 2nd and 3rd-level support
- prioritizing and handling workload effectively
- reporting
Skills and experience you will need
- fluency in English (spoken and written) at minimum B2 level
- associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, System Administration, or a related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in a similar role in the area of mainframe DBDC technology infrastructure in a high-availability enterprise environment
- significant experience within the ITIL processes: Service Request Management, Change and Release Management, Incident Management
- experience in Db2, IMS (DC only), MQ, CICS, REXX, automation and monitoring tools and techniques
- analytical thinking, problem-solving
- continuous improvement attitude and proactive mindset
- being a team player and willing to share the know-how with the team
- excellent communication skills
Nice to have
- German language proficiency (at minimum B2 level)
- experience in DR concepts
- knowledge of mainframe and client/server infrastructure
- knowledge of performance tuning in the DBDC area
- knowledge in security (RACF, certificates, encryption)
