About the role

As a Business Platform Architect, you will play a crucial role at the interface of business, IT and Data Science to ensure our platforms provide the features and tools necessary to enable scalable (Gen)AI use cases for ERGO. Based on the fast technological advancements in the field, you will serve as a point of contact for all involved parties to ensure that new advancements are made available and meet the business needs. This also involves researching and potentially PoC-ing new tools and technologies to provide an informed basis for any future decisions. Additionally, you will provide support and close collaboration to our use cases on the conceptual design and infrastructure selection to ensure efficient utilization of our platforms. Because ERGO will utilize (Gen)AI across various different use cases, you will be involved in the definition of architectural blueprints and standardized ways of working and align them with our AI Foundations and Business Technology units to enable a scalable approach to (Gen)AI at ERGO.

How you will get the job done

• enabling strategic digitalization projects to generate sustainable competitive advantages by providing AI and digital platforms along the entire insurance value chain
• supporting the design of software solutions for the productive deployment of (Gen)AI solutions in ERGO entities (national and international), including technical integration into existing applications and processes
• evaluating suitable tools and technologies for cloud-based (Gen)AI platforms and supporting their implementation
• collaborating closely on the conceptual design and enforcement of technical blueprints with AI Foundations and Business Technology units, in order to optimise the use of the mentioned platforms through standardised ways of working
• ensuring ongoing development of technical know-how, tools and methods across Digital Technologies, IT architecture and IT units
• supporting and advising strategic digitalisation projects to ensure secure and efficient usage of our platforms

Skills and experience you will need

• fluent spoken and written English
• having a university degree in Informatics, Business Informatics, or a related field
• good knowledge of (Gen)AI technologies, MLOps, cloud computing, and modern development tools
• working experience with platform architectures and microservices
• understanding business processes and aligning technical solutions with business goals
• knowing at least one programming, scripting, or database language (e.g. Python, Spark, SQL) and having experience with cloud platforms (especially Azure, Databricks)
• willingness to innovate and working proactively, with the ability to think in a connected way
• knowledge of scalable data management and data architectures, including data pipelining
• willingness and ability to travel
