About the role

As an IT Governance Manager, you will be accountable for defining, institutionalizing, and enforcing the Group-wide IT governance framework across all Technology Towers. You will work closely with C-level executives and senior leaders, shaping how IT operates globally, ensuring regulatory compliance, and aligning technology decisions with corporate strategy and Board expectations. Your role will have direct, enterprise-wide impact on the IT operating model, governance structures, and risk posture.

How you will get the job done

  • leading the definition, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Group-wide IT governance framework, including policies and standards
  • defining and enforcing governance principles across business units and geographies, ensuring structures are binding, auditable, and regulatory-compliant
  • advising C-level executives on IT governance, risk exposure, and standards rollout, preparing high-quality materials for executive committees and Board-level decision-making
  • driving harmonization and maturity of governance practices across regions, ensuring transparency of standards, service quality, and operational effectiveness
  • steering governance-related transformation initiatives with Group Technology-wide impact
  • supporting the creation and review of IT strategy to ensure alignment with business requirements
  • coordinating and aligning with regional and functional stakeholders to secure consistent adoption of Group governance standards

Skills and experience you will need

  • fluency in English (written and spoken business language)
  • master’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related discipline
  • significant experience in IT governance within global, complex, matrix organizations (ideally in Insurance, Reinsurance, or Financial Services)
  • strong knowledge of IT governance frameworks (e.g. COBIT, ITIL, ISO standards) and regulatory environments
  • solid understanding of IT risk management, outsourcing governance, cloud governance, and operational resilience
  • proven experience advising C-level stakeholders and preparing executive/Board-level materials
  • excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior/executive level
  • strong analytical, conceptual, and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and lead through expertise

Nice to have

  • German language skills
  • experience in insurance, reinsurance, or broader financial services
  • prior involvement in large-scale IT transformation or operating model redesign initiatives
