About the role
Head of Product Cluster Online Sales delivers business value through the management of the software development lifecycle of the assigned application systems along with ensuring the maintainability and operability of the developed application systems. In doing so, the function is responsible for ensuring that the necessary resources and capabilities are available at international locations and that cost targets and regulations on compliance, security and data protection are adhered to.
How you will get the job done
- being responsible for the development, improvement, testing, roll-out and maintenance of the associated application systems in accordance with the requirements of the defined system architecture and responsibility for the elimination of defects
- ensuring the maintainability and operability of the developed application systems in accordance with the requirements of the defined system architecture and rules
- ensuring the use of standard services and tools for application development and the minimization of development costs by purchasing software products that are compatible with the strategy and architecture, creation of cross-segment and cross-location system synergies
- balancing the requirements of the business departments and technical capabilities
- supporting the delivery of projects that fall within the area of responsibility and ensuring the smooth transition from a project to subsequent operation
- driving the definition and implementation of strategic business and technology initiatives within the area of responsibility
- ensuring adherence to compliance, security, and data protection regulations by implementing secure development practices, conducting regular audits and fostering a culture of risk awareness within the division
- managing of service providers and procurement partners and collaboration with the other ERGO Germany subtowers (e.g. contract / claims systems towards workflow / sales systems)
- supporting the planning, management and controlling of the respective cost targets for the application systems in the respective clusters and responsible for complying with the entire division’s budget (including external partners/suppliers) and drive cost-efficiency
- personnel management and the teams and direct reports within the Online Sales cluster ensuring the personnel requirements planning for the department, and the availability of (inter-)specialized and technical expertise
- being responsible for the needs-based promotion and development of the employees as well as coaching in a global set-up, active promotion of a professional and performance-oriented work culture and the development and preservation of knowledge transfers between employees within and across locations
- this role is based in Warsaw, but occasional travels are expected
Skills and experience you will need
- fluency in English
- University degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Mathematics, Economics, Business Informatics or Computer Science
- several years of experience in the technology and/or finance industry in an international environment, ideally insurance/IT consulting
- profound insurance expertise and knowledge of the processes of an insurance company, including the associated insurance products, sales channels, business models and the corresponding set-up of a specialist and solution architecture
- comprehensive knowledge of the IT product and application landscape in the insurance environment as well as proficient understanding of IT standards (processes and tools)
- experience in leading and developing a cross-country organizational unit with responsibility for results combined with a strong drive to foster a collaborative working environment and a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and accountability, as well as readiness to travel
- strong stakeholder management skills including a high level of service and customer orientation towards internal and external partners as well as strong negotiation skills
- driver of innovation for IT business solutions and operational efficiency in combination with a strong analytical mindset and the ability to navigate complex topics
- escalation and change management knowledge and outstanding organizational skills
- excellent leadership, communication, and mediation skills, including the ability to develop, coach and motivate managers and employees from diverse backgrounds, as well as build teams and manage internal and external interfaces
