About the role
This role delivers high-quality financial reporting and assurance for internal clients across the ERGO Group within life and health insurance entities. It ensures accurate, compliant reporting under HGB, IFRS, and Solvency II while serving as a key contact for auditors and stakeholders.
How you will get the job done
- reporting in accordance with German GAAP (HGB), IFRS, and Solvency II
- coordinating and preparing annual and quarterly financial statements, forecasts, and midterm plannings
- carrying out deviation analyses and quality assurance
- preparing internal and external reports, including for the Management Board, the Supervisory Board, and BaFin/Deutsche Bundesbank
- being a responsible contact for auditors on all matters relating to annual and quarterly financial statements
- participating in projects and management of task forces
Skills and experience you will need
- fluency in English (C1)
- university degree, preferably in Economics with a focus on External Accounting, Controlling, Auditing, Insurance, or Business Mathematics
- experience of working in a comparable reporting position for insurance companies
- knowledge of accounting regulations for insurance companies according to national and international standards (HGB, IFRS, Solvency II)
- good knowledge of standard Office software (particularly Excel), and basic knowledge of databases or SAP (FI and SEM-BCS)
- analytical thinking skills and the ability to analyse accounting issues and present them in an understandable verbal and graphical form
- great communication skills combined with a high degree of independence and responsibility
