About the role
We are seeking a Data Engineer to collaborate with Munich Re on delivering data solutions for a Munich Re Global Specialty Insurance, a leading provider of specialty insurance solutions. Within Munich Re Global Specialty Insurance, data-driven decision-making and AI are key priorities to support Underwriting and Claims Excellence.
How you will get the job done
- executing projects to provide actionable data assets
- preparing structured and unstructured data for analysis and BI reporting
- working with data from multiple sources, at various levels of complexity and granularity to deliver high-quality data
- developing dashboards using Power BI that enable data-driven decision-making
- leveraging GenAI for information extraction, data harmonization and quality assurance
- being part of a global community of Data Analytics and AI experts, shaping the future of the insurance Industry
Skills and experience you will need
- fluency in English is a must
- bachelor’s degree (MS preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Math or equivalent combination of education and experience
- +1-3 years of experience with data modeling, data intake, and data-curation procedures
- experience in the insurance industry
- expert SQL skills including experience with Databricks Unity Catalog
- +2 years of hands-on Python experience
- experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI
- experience integrating GenAI into data/analytics workflows: RAG, vector databases/embeddings, semantic search, or document ingestion pipelines
- drive and dedication, as well as creativity and hands-on attitude
- strong oral and written communication in English and good interpersonal skills
- excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
