About the role

The Collection and Accounting Specialist will handle advanced accounting tasks related to broker settlements and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards. The role supports financial closing processes, oversees payments and receivables, and improves accounting workflows. The role also collaborates with partners to resolve issues and maintain financial data.

How you will get the job done

• independently executing complex accounting processes (premium, commission, and assistance settlements for national and international partners), including preparation, review, and posting
• executing and monitoring ongoing postings, as well as reconciling general and subsidiary ledgers in accordance with HGB, GOB and IFRS
• participating in the execution of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and year-end closing tasks, including actuarial valuations (e.g. reserves, unearned premiums and value adjustments)
• handling both domestic and international payments and receivables
• analysing, clarifying and optimising processes, including master data maintenance
• serving as a point of contact for internal and external partners to provide support with technical questions and onboarding

Skills and experience you will need

• fluency in both German and English (B2/C1)
• university degree in Business Administration, Finance/Accounting, or a comparable field
• 3+ years of professional experience in the insurance sector with a focus on financial accounting, billing, and payment transactions
• excellent system skills, particularly in SAP and MS Office, as well as a good understanding of billing systems
• accounting expertise as well as knowledge of the insurance industry and relevant legal frameworks (especially insurance contract law)
