About the role

We are looking for Actuaries to join our team. In your role you will work closely with the Risk (Non-Life) teams of ERGO Group, contributing to the development and execution of our quarterly closing processes.​

How you will get the job done

• coordinating and monitoring of technical provisions valuation and validation under Solvency II and IFRS17 for German insurance companies in the ERGO Group
• ensuring the appropriateness of models and methods used, as well as the assumptions made for the calculation of technical provisions, including the assessment on accuracy, completeness and quality of the data used
• contributing to the preparation of the annual Local Actuarial Function report which involves supporting the Local Actuarial Function on the reliability and appropriateness of the calculation of the technical provisions, on the underwriting policy and on the adequacy of reinsurance arrangements, as core part of the reports
• handling special tasks and ad hoc requests, also in project and working groups, as well as coordinating the model change process regarding to the technical provisions

Skills and experience you will need

• fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
• graduate degree in mathematics, economics with a focus on finance or a comparable quantitative field
• at least 3 years of professional experience in the insurance industry in at least one of the areas: risk management, actuarial, statistics, ALM
• IFRS17 knowledge desirable
• knowledge of valuation models for technical provisions as well as the activities of the actuarial function of a primary insurer (Solvency II Directive, Delegated Regulation and Guidelines on the valuation of technical provisions)
• competence in providing technical guidance
• great communication skills and a strong team spirit
• distinct analytical thinking, independent working habit and high level of commitment
