About the role

Business technology is looking for an experienced manager to support their data platform area. Our mission is to transform the Munich Re group into a digital and data driven company. Our data platform sub tower, where the role main focus would be, is crucial part for all data and AI related topics.

How you will get the job done

  • being aaccountable for the products and platforms within your area (budgets, compliance, delivery, quality)
  • being accountable for all aspects of budgets and financial management, ensuring teams stay within budget from both a run and transform perspective
  • building high performing interdisciplinary products teams that can deliver change with a high degree of quality, but remain cost efficient
  • being responsible for single escalation points for all IT aspects related to the products and platforms in your area
  • mentoring and line managing (legal) all Polish resources for Data Platforms, establishing a strong team identity and supporting the other ML4s in growing their organisations in Poland
  • being a servant leader, ensuring the team reaches its full potential and removing any impediments where required
  • building a strong relationship with business counterparts, becoming a trusted partner on all aspects of delivery
  • focusing on engineering excellence, covering architecture, ways of working (e.g. DevOps) and skills within the team

Skills and experience you will need

  • fluency in English and Polish
  • at least 10 years overall IT experience in technical and managerial positions
  • experience in managing technical delivery
  • people/team leadership experience
  • corporate IT experience with large projects and complex internal & external dependencies
  • solid understanding of Agile and traditional delivery methodologies and how these are applied in corporate environments
  • working experience with various technologies (open source programming, databases, cloud, containerization, etc.)
  • good understanding of integration patterns and technologies (REST/SOAP APIs, synchronous/asynchronous integration, batch processing, etc.) and knowledge of basic architecture types (microservices, monoliths, etc.)
