About the role
We are seeking an Elastic SIEM engineer to become a part of our log management team. In this role, you will be responsible for the collection, parsing, correlation, and visualization of data and implementing detection capabilities using the Elastic SIEM security module.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong skills in system administration, log management, event correlation, and threat detection.
How you will get the job done
- onboarding data – setting up data pipelines (log collectors, log parsers, data indexes) for a variety of data sources using tools like Nifi, Beats, Kafka, Elastic, Kibana
- implementing and maintaining detection capabilities using the Elastic SIEM effectively leveraging recognized industry frameworks
- troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to complex configurations in order to ensure proper data delivery and alert output
- designing, implementing, maintaining, and working towards constant improvement of the application stack
- preparing technical documentation of engineering tasks (tool onboarding, process documents, etc.)
- collaborating effectively with team members in order to achieve shared goals and contribute to a positive team culture
Skills and experience you will need
- good verbal and written English communication skills
- experience in the collection, parsing, correlation, and visualization of security related data sources
- hands-on experience with the Elastic stack (Beats, Logstash, Elasticsearch) or any other recognized SIEM solutions ArcSight, QRadar, Splunk
- understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including network security and threat detection
- knowledge of network and endpoint security tools with their respective data formats
- proficient knowledge in enterprise processes such as change/incident
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice to have
- experience with scripting (e.g. Python, Bash, Ruby)
- at least 3+ years working with a SIEM solution
- certification: Cysa+, CEH or similar
