About the role
The Global IT Security of the ERGO Group AG will roll out software technology in Compromise Assessments for various customers. As the technology of choice, an industry-leading tool will be used to enable the ERGO Group AG to get a holistic view of current threads and to, scan holistically for Indicators of Compromise and hunt down potential attackers. Furthermore, the technology will create new possibilities and capabilities to react to those threads for the whole ERGO Group.
In your function, you will support the project team during the project phase. During this phase, you will be responsible for testing, implementing and deploying the solution components. After the project phase, the responsibility will shift to regular operations, which includes maintaining, reviewing/monitoring, extending and administrating the software solution and the corresponding infrastructure components. You will work collaboratively with Security Analysts, CSIRT Specialists and various customers to ensure high quality in detecting and responding to security incidents based on the tool.
How you will get the job done
- system administrating specialized security appliances (Linux-based) of the software solution, including installation, configuration, maintenance, backup and restoration
- administrating test beds, and testing and evaluating the applications and software appliances to ensure the required quality during the detection and response to security incidents
- assisting in the creation and improvement of response measures required during the handling of security incidents
- operating the release management process to guarantee stability in the infrastructure and the availability of the most recent tool features
- assisting in troubleshooting any functional or performance issues that are related to the technology stack in the whole ERGO Group
- collaborating with internal customers to ensure the availability and functionality of the solution
- developing internal & external reporting for the tool environment
- being a key contact to the tool vendor including vendor management
- supporting Service Management for customer satisfaction
Skills and experience you will need
- fluent in English
- at least 3 years of hands-on experience in the administration of Linux-based systems and/or COTS software appliances
- knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux Operating Systems (Administration)
- experience and knowledge in the IT security area (security architectures, security principles, system hardening, host/network access controls, etc.)
- general understanding of computer networking concepts and protocols
- experience in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell or equivalent
- general understanding and experience in system acceptance and release testing and the documentation of the results (knowledge and hands-on experience in test automation is an advantage)
- ability to work in a multinational and complex environment
- excellent communication skills and a professional appearance towards customers
- ability to stay focused, keep calm and work under stress
- being an innovator, creative, passionate, independent and motivated to make a difference and help to reduce cyber risk for ERGO Group
Nice to have
- Bachelor / Master in IT / Business IT / Computer Science or similar education
- certifications in the area of security/system administration are an advantage: GCUX, MCSE, CompTIA Server+, LPIC, RHCSA, RHCE, or equivalent
