About the role
You will create and curate a digital product for our clients within the ERGO or Munich RE Insurance Group. You will not do this alone, but together with your agile Scrum or Kanban Team. For this team, you will serve as the customer representative and bridge the communication gap between business and technology.
In addition to standard Product Owner tasks, like backlog management, you will ensure that all development complies with internal regulations and rules. This includes collaboration with other organisational roles, like Project Managers, to make agile product development work within the corporate environment.
Beyond the operational work, you will become the product representative within ETSM and help us understand risks and opportunities, so all departments can collaborate towards growing a shared customer value.
Depending on your experience, we offer Mid to Senior positions.
We are looking for Product Owners for the following activities:
- Platforms area – supporting active maintenance and improvements of two products on AEM platform, and responsible for building new landing pages
- Data Pipelines area – maintenance of Insurance Analytics Platform for our partner MunichRe (https://www.ergo.com/BigData) – experience working with data pipelines and big data is a plus
- Direct Sales – focusing on digital insurance calculators that support risk assessment and drive insurance direct sales online or via calls
How you will get the job done
- filling the role of the product owner within an agile Scrum or Kanban team
- taking over responsibility for your products’ backlog value every single day
- eliciting product requirements from internal and external stakeholders
- becoming the internal expert for your products external market
- becoming a trusted value guide for your business stakeholder’s roadmap, strategy, and vision
- creating results within the regulatory process and documentation requirements
Skills and experience you will need
- fluency in English
- knowledge of the agile Methodology (Scrum & Kanban) and the Product Owner Role within
- at least 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar experience within Digital Software Delivery
- experience in self-managing your priorities and time within changing and conflicting expectations
- experience and motivation to drive change to increase product value
- you are proactive, value-focused and you do not shy from responsibility
- flexibility and people-oriented approach to managing the team/product lifecycle, stakeholder management skills, dependencies management
- experience working with Jira, Confluence & Microsoft Office
Nice to have
- good command of the German language
- experience with planning budgets and resources with agile and waterfall methodology
- worked in a multicultural and corporate environment
- experience in InsureTech, Data&AI, Frontend Technologies or Content Management Systems
- scaled Agile experience & knowledge
