How you will get the job done

  • driving the successful, integrated management of the Infrastructure & IT Security Delivery Portfolio through a Portfolio Office
  • defining and implementing controls to manage the Portfolio (process, procedure, governance, and reporting)
  • ensuring all Programs and Projects within the Delivery Portfolio receive appropriate challenge and support according to Portfolio controls
  • aligning and communicating the Portfolio scope and prioritization with Demand (Investment Portfolio), Global Delivery, and other key stakeholder groups
  • co-ordinating stakeholders at the Portfolio level to ensure involved as appropriate to take required actions and decisions
  • developing and establishing suitable management tools and the associated processes, interacting with peer groups across all Global Delivery (GD) portfolios, and adhering to standard governance and reporting processes prescribed by the Global Delivery (GD) PMO centrally. This includes the development and establishment of:
    • controlling instruments for budget, schedule, and progress controlling and the associated controlling process
    • decision-making and reporting bodies, including the definition of associated escalation mechanisms
    • planning instruments, taking into account the planning detail levels and the associated planning process
    • quality assurance tools and the associated quality assurance process
    • documentation tools and the associated documentation process
    • communication tools for regular and external communication and the associated communication process
    • delivery risk management tools and the associated delivery risk management process
  • providing operational and functional leadership and support to a team of Program and Project Management Officers (PMO), some of whom report directly to the Portfolio Manager and some of whom are seconded to the Portfolio from the ET&S PMO Practice. Leadership responsibilities include:
    • motivating and coaching the PMO team
    • team development: including annual reviews and promotions, selecting future employees and deciding on hiring or transferring suitable candidates, evaluating team members and deciding on salary adjustments (internal direct reports only)
    • change management and communication
    • planning and filling positions and the area of responsibility
    • ensuring the required professional, interdisciplinary, and technical know-how of the team in terms of holistic development of the team

Skills and experience you will need

  • proficiency in English skills
  • German written and spoken language skills is an advantage
  • strong project and program management experience
  • P3O, PMP / Prince 2, or PgMP / MSP accreditation desirable
  • proven skills and experience in the successful management of a large-scale infrastructure and IT Security delivery portfolio, including up to 5 business segments involved and large dependence on external partners
  • team management of more than 20 FTE
  • entrepreneurial thinking and acting with persuasiveness, empathy, and creativity
  • confident in negotiations in contact with external suppliers, clients, board members, etc.
  • ability to lead, coach, and motivate
  • ability to work in a matrix structure
  • flexibility to travel for business purposes
