About the role
The employee is responsible for security, network basic infrastructure, support in the further development of the client environment, control of the team as well as 2nd level support for client systems with experience in cloud technologies. The person will work with colleagues to create new concepts to improve secure operations.

How you will get the job done
- supporting planning and implementation of the firewall (Checkpoint)
- setting and checking firewall and NAT rules, VPNs
- installing, configuring, updating and troubleshooting
- configuring and verifying backup logs (EMC Networker)
- supporting the monitoring system (ELK, PRTG)
- configuring and verifying monitoring systems (ELK, PRTG), Kibana Dashboards
- supporting the further development and planning of the server infrastructure and client systems in on-prem and cloud environments
- managing SFTP and FTP connections
- providing 2nd level support for client systems
- analysing environments to develop optimization measures
- implementing measures in cooperation with colleagues
- ensuring quality and availability
Skills and experience you will need
- fluency in English (both speaking and writing)
- very high technical understanding of the interrelationships in complex IP networks
- high professional competencies in Checkpoint Firewall and IPS
- strong RHEL and Windows Server skills
- skilled in administering complex heterogeneous on-prem and cloud IT landscapes
- ability to transform requirements into a suitable strategy including information security
- understanding of business requirements
- strong analytical skills to identify complex problems
- knowledge of IT service management processes
Nice to have
- German language proficiency
- completed university or technical college studies in Computer Science or a technical field or comparable education/training with several years of professional experience
- knowledge of Hyper-V, VMWare ESX, Citrix XenDesktop
- desired expertise in Netapp storage systems and ELK Stack
- certification in ITIL and/or a certification in information security is a plus
