About the role

As a Lead Pricing Actuary you will work with stakeholders across the business to implement pricing applications, bridging the gap between technical possibilities and business impact, while actively fostering innovations that enhance our pricing strategies. Together, we will define the focus of your segments, leveraging your expertise in commercial and industrial lines. You will be part of a global team responsible for the German market.

How you will get the job done

• leading pricing projects by employing a structured approach through phases of research and scoping, data transfer and modelling, as well as analyses and reporting
• creating robust risk, tariff, and price elasticity models accompanied by meaningful explanations of the methodology and data
• designing creative strategies tailored to actuarial challenges in the P&C insurance sector, pushing beyond conventional concepts
• optimizing risk and premium methods, leveraging data analytics and stochastic simulations to enhance premium calculation and risk modelling, and catering to specific customer needs
• collaboratively improving diverse data sets, uncovering data potential, and implementing a new architecture, while developing key performance indicators and dashboards for strategic management insights.

Skills and experience you will need

• fluency in English
• a university degree in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or a related field
• minimum 5 years of experience with state-of-the-art pricing and data mining tools such as WTW Pricing Suite, ResQ, R, SAS, Power BI, and Tableau
• profound experience with pricing processes in an actuarial department, ideally with a focus on commercial and industrial lines
• proven leadership and project lead experience in a large area, as well as enthusiasm for expanding and developing pricing and portfolio steering to the next levels as part of our pricing journey
• structured and conceptual working methods, strong analytical skills, and the ability to develop creative solutions
• good communication skills, ability to work independently, a proactive approach and commitment to your own topics and teamwork skills combined with a hands-on mentality

Nice to have

• experience in cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS, Databricks)
