About the role

The Global Delivery Project Management Office (GD PMO) is the central Project Management Office overseeing the whole IT portfolio of ET&SM across the entire Global Delivery Portfolio spanning over 30 countries where ERGO operates. It provides services to various stakeholder on senior management and board member level, monitors progress of the IT portfolio delivering agreed scope within time and budget, sets governance boundaries and consequently improves the company’s capability to deliver projects by providing guidance and coaching.

As a PMO Lead, you will be responsible for providing leadership in developing, implementing and maintaining essential governance and project management frameworks, standards and processes relating to the Programs and Projects across the entire Global Delivery Portfolio.

A PMO Lead drive further development of the content and methodology of ET&SM IT Portfolio management, align reporting requirements and input across the tech hubs as well as with other relevant stakeholders (i.e. Finance, Demand, ESP-Offices) and lead a geographically distributed team and support the team by removing roadblocks out of their way.

How you will get the job done

  • working with the program and project teams to produce, communicate, review, maintain and monitor governance arrangements
  • leading the development and maintenance of governance processes for the management of the Programs and Projects
  • maintaining effective reporting systems and provide quality reports, submissions, briefings, regarding all areas of responsibility against program performance indicators and other strategic priorities
  • proactively identifiying and managing portfolio risk, issues and dependencies, ensuring appropriate executive escalation and visibility is provided, leading to an acceptable resolution
  • leading the coordination of stakeholders on governance issues relevant to program initiatives
  • working with Global Delivery Portfolio Managers and Directors in delivering continual improvements for project delivery
  • managing monthly projects status and financial reports
  • forecasting cost, cash view for active projects in the portfolio
  • reconciliating of project finance with the finance department and IT demand aligning investment, project and accounting view at the project level
  • defining, managing and directing the needed end-to-end PMO work effort, which includes leveraging best practices and techniques
  • providing ongoing coaching and support to Program and Project Managers to ensure successful delivery of projects

Skills and experience you will need

  • Master’s degree – Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other related disciplines
  • extensive knowledge and expertise in program/project management, portfolio management, systems development methodology
  • min 10 years of IT and business industry working experience
  • min 3 years of program/project management experience
  • extensive leadership experience
  • specialization in transformation projects and consulting
  • international and multicompany experience in large organizational structures
  • advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • certified SAFe Agilist
  • proactive with can-do-attitude
  • excellent stakeholder management skills
  • convincing and confident board / MD level communication and moderation experience
  • experience in the insurance industry would be an asset
  • fluent English is a must, communicative German would be an asset
