How you will get the job done
- leading and mentoring Engineering team members as needed, especially on technical integration and dependencies
- co-ordinating architecture and engineering/SCRUM teams to ensure the technical roadmap is aligned
- being a people leader first, and making sure that the team is using its full potential and is not held back by workflow issues
- ensuring the efficiency and technical quality of engineering work is outsourced to vendors
- leading technical integration between all relevant teams by ensuring it is properly planned, designed and implemented
- identifying and managing internal and external technical dependencies
- deep-diving into technical solutions, when needed to help teams achieve their objectives e.g., can lead PoCs and do code reviews on critical/challenging aspects where teams need help
Skills and experience you will need
- fluent in written and spoken English (B2/ C1)
- people/team leadership experience, working in diverse and distributed teams is a strong plus
- solid technical background (for example as an ex-Developer) and experience working with various technologies (open source programming, databases, cloud, containerisation etc.)
- good understanding of integration patterns and technologies (REST/SOAP APIs, synchronous/asynchronous integration, batch processing etc.)
- corporate IT experience with large projects and complex internal & external dependencies
- solid understanding of Agile and traditional delivery methodologies and how these are applied in corporate environments
- knowledge of basic architecture types (microservices, monoliths etc.)
- experience in managing technical delivery
