About the role
The Disaster Recovery Manager (DR Manager) advises the ITSCM (IT Service Continuity Management) and is responsible for the conception and sustainable implementation of disaster recovery concepts in IT operations. As a Disaster Recovery Manager, you will ensure that the regulatory requirements and associated obligations are met and verified by the IT organization through regular recovery tests. You will also advise on the planning, preparation, and execution of tests. In the event of an emergency, DR Manager is jointly responsible for restarting the IT infrastructure or failing services.
How you will get the job done
- implementing legal and internal BCM requirements for the organization
- maintaining the DR Policy and implementing awareness measures
- continuous further developing emergency concepts as well as monitoring the appropriateness and effectiveness of emergency precautionary measures
- planning, preparing, and executing IT emergency drills and regular recovery tests, as well as documenting the results
- organizing, qualifying, training, and technical cooperating in operational situations for the organizational structure for IT emergencies
- following up on Prio1 incidents and IT emergencies for the services
- regular reporting to management and audit authorities
Skills and experience you will need
- fluency in English, both written and spoken (at least B2)
- 5+ years of professional IT experience
- proven experience in emergency and incident management, management of IT services of infrastructures, disaster recovery management, BCM (business continuity management) and/or IT service continuity management (ITSCM), planning, execution, and results analysis of DR tests/exercises in data centres
- profound knowledge of ISO standards 270xx, 223xx and BSI 100-x
- knowledge of IT technologies and infrastructures
- strategic mindset, analytical thinking
- strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
Nice to have
- knowledge of ITIL or COBIT or comparable international best practices
- project management experience
