About the role

The Compliance Department’s main objective is to act as a key second line of defence function (2nd LoD) and provide an effective Compliance Management System (CMS), including ensuring an appropriate compliance risk management framework, in particular IT non-compliance with legal requirements, applicable regulations and ERGO Group requirements.

The Department Manager is responsible for leading and developing the team, as well as supporting the Local Compliance Manager and the global ERGO Group operations in modifying and developing the implemented Compliance Management System.

How you will get the job done

  • systemic managing of the risk of non-compliance of the Company’s activities with laws, regulations, client and ERGO Group requirements
  • advising on specific issues related to systemic compliance risk management and advising on regulatory requirements
  • countering the possibility of damage to the Company’s reputation or credibility resulting from non-compliance or misapplication of laws, internal regulations and standards of conduct adopted by the Company, including ethical standards
  • counteracting the risk of financial loss or legal sanctions that may result from violations of the above laws and standards of conduct
  • implementing comprehensive and adequate rules for the identification, assessment, monitoring and control of compliance risks
  • independently developing compliance standards based on ERGO Group standards
  • identifying and assessing compliance risks, particularly with regard to compliance with applicable external and internal requirements​
  • preparing compliance risk management reports (regular and ad hoc) and reviewing compliance requirements for their compatibility with the business model, local legal and regulatory requirement
  • providing the results of the local compliance risk assessment, compliance plan and other relevant compliance issues
  • organizing and conducting compliance training and awareness campaigns
  • working with ERGO Group on an ongoing basis to modify and develop the implemented Compliance Management System

Skills and experience you will need

  • fluency in spoken and written English at B2/C1 level
  • university degree: Law, Management, Economics or Finance
  • a minimum of 5 years of experience gained in compliance activities in a financial services company, insurance company or audit firm – experience in compliance in an IT services company will be an advantage
  • strong understanding of the economics and business environment of service delivery – experience in IT services will be an advantage
  • knowledge of legal and KNF requirements for the financial sector and IT industry
  • ability to interpret legislation, create procedures and internal regulations
  • experience in data analysis and performance reporting at various management levels (including executive level)
  • experience working with various international stakeholders
  • excellent analytical thinking skills and attention to detail
  • very high level of commitment, results orientation and performance
  • experience in managing multiple objectives, schedules and deliverables
  • ability to lead the activities of others and excellent negotiation, decision-making, communication and training skills
  • experience working in teams located in multiple locations

Nice to have

  • knowledge of the German language
  • general knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements for the financial sector in the international market
  • experience in advising on regulatory compliance in multiple jurisdictions
  • knowledge of IT technology combined with an understanding of the general context of business processes
  • knowledge of ISO 27000, 31000 family of standards and COBIT standard
  • experience in IT Risk Management
