About the role

The Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Lead is responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and sustainable working environment by defining, implementing, and driving the organization’s occupational health and safety strategy. This role promotes risk prevention, continuous improvement, and a strong safety culture across the business while ensuring that all OHS processes are effectively governed, documented, measurable, and audit ready. The position also provides end-to-end ownership of OHS controls, ensuring full alignment between operational execution and governance requirements.

How you will get the job done

  • ensuring full compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, internal policies, and corporate standards
  • defining and implement OHS strategy, programs, and initiatives aligned with business objectives
  • leading incident management processes, including reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • driving audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring high quality and timely closure of findings
  • acting as a trusted advisor to leadership and stakeholders; build strong safety culture through communication, training, and engagement
  • leading, develop, and scale the OHS team, setting clear priorities and performance expectations
  • collaborating with external authorities and partners, representing the organization in OHS matters
  • ensuring end-to-end ownership of OHS control lifecycle
  • driving and enforce cross-functional responsibilities (with HR) to ensure timely data updates, process completion, and compliance with defined workflows

Skills and experience you will need

  • university degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
  • relevant OHS certification (e.g. NEBOSH or local equivalent) is a strong advantage
  • 5+ years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety, including leadership responsibilities
  • strong knowledge of local regulations and international OHS standards and frameworks
  • proven track record in building and implementing OHS programs, audits, and risk management processes
  • experience in a multi-site environment
  • strong leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
  • analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable improvements
  • strong experience in internal/external audits, including audit response management and closure of findings
  • proven ability to design, implement, and monitor control frameworks and operational processes
  • experience in managing structured data, ensuring data integrity and consistency across systems

Nice to have

  • previous experience operating in a highly regulated environment will be considered an asset
